![]() ![]() ![]() I wound up playing this since my last foray into scratching that “gotta do space” itch fell apart, and I’m honestly impressed with what I found. I never played Escape Velocity, but Endless Sky is something of a homage to it made by one guy in his free time with the help of users and fans’ contributed content. There are plenty of options out there for the enterprising captain, and some of them aren’t legal. You apply for a bank loan and drop the cash on your very first craft…and now that you’re out in space, you need to figure out how you’re gonna pay off that loan before the interest gets outta control. It’s the early 31st century and like any bright-eyed youth on your backwater planet, you want to leave home and see the stars. I didn’t check to see if it had controller support, but I found keyboard and mouse worked just fine, with me just sticking to plain keyboard most of the time. I have done the Wanderer story, just not in the current playthrough because I wanted to farm some Kor Mereti before they become allied with the Wanderers.ĮDIT: I called it "small" because it is physically smaller than the 512 and most Sestor ships, of course it is not weak, those 5 in my fleet can outperform all my Shield Beetles.Endless Sky is a free-to-play single player game and it took me around 45 hours or so to get to the end of the Free Worlds campaign. The final part of that story, which will be released at an undisclosed time, may also make automata buyable, eliminating the self destruct issue. They'll be expensive but a fleet of a couple of dozen of their heavies won't get steamrolled by a fleet of automata. Within the story, there will be many opportunities to capture automata and opportunities to buy powerful Wanderer ships. The Wanderers can be found to the far north of human space. It doesn't sound like you've done the Wanderer story. As for the probability of capturing it, I think it's about 6.4% so that 7% based on the sample is quite a good estimation. It's the second most powerful Mereti ship there is. Originally posted by warp_core:The 256 is not a small ship by any measure. So that got me thinking how do people get better ships? How the heck can you get the World ship? (nvm the world ship lol I just noticed the pinned thread) And is there a way to decrease Kor self-destruct rate? I was very close to rage quitting every time a Model 512 blew up as soon as I touched it. I have boarded circa one hundred of them, but managed to capture only five smaller Mereti ships, Model 256 I think. So I have waited, I kid you not, for 5 hours straight, boarding disabled Kor ships that drifted away from the fight. I also threw in 4 Wanderer ramscoops and a buttload of fuel pods, which allowed it to stay cloaked indefinitely when near a star. So I reverted to a different tactic I got a Raider, sold all of its weapons, and equipped it with my precious cloaking device. I jumped my entire fleet to one of the systems where Mereti and Sestor meet each other, however my fleet was no match for them. So I have switched my focus to the World Ship, and as soon as I saw that 0.0% I switched again, this time to Kor automata. Soon I realized that the Shield Beetles I have are better than the Raiders, so I sold all of the Raiders which made me over a billion credits. ![]() I wanted to get better ships, so I bought 346 cans of Nerve Gas and went to get some juicy fresh Raiders. So I have reached a point where money is no longer a problem, which means that my fleet consists mainly of Shield Beetles for pews and a Bactrian with circa 346 crew for capturing. Everything is a spoiler, I will not bother with spoiler tags ![]()
